Part of the fun of the tournament was the random draw. Sometimes the top wrestlers ended up with a (what would have been) 17-20 seed guy in the first round and there were some big upsets every year. It seems this will definitely reduce the upset potential in the early rounds (At least for the top 5 or 6 guys). It will favor the PSU's and OSU's of the world that will field a lot of top seeded guys and I am sure that is who was pushing this change.
